Wayfarers Lodge No. 50 Upcoming Events November & December 2019

October 27th, 2019

Brethren,
In November and December we start wrapping this up the Masonic year and preparing for our next year.

Saturday, November 2nd 8:00 AM – LODGE WORK DAY: Blue Chair Installation: The new blue chairs will be installed in the Lodge Room. There is much work to be done, we need all Masons to assist and be part of the continued beautification of Wayfarers Lodge No. 50! Members with tools and carpentry skills are needed. Additionally, lend your hand to keep our Lodge clean and appealing every day we are in lodge. This makes for an enjoyable experience! A great success in the installation of the new chairs, complete with the painting and creating of the platforms. We still have more work to do Brothers!

Tuesday, November 5th 7:00 PM, we will have an Long Range Planning and Officers Meeting. Meeting will start promptly at 7:00 PM. We will have much to discuss, ranging from Degrees to fundraisers!

Monday, November 11th an official United States public holiday, observed annually on November 11th, which honors military veterans, that is, persons who served in the United States Armed Forces. It coincides with other holidays, including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, celebrated in other countries that mark the anniversary of the end of World War I; major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. The United States previously observed Armistice Day. The U.S. holiday was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.

Tuesday, November 12th 6:00 PM we will have our Dinner and Stated Meeting at 7:00 PM. This will be the last Stated Meeting of this Masonic year. Education will be provided by Job’s Daughters Bethel 19. At this meeting, Officer elections will be held, with the final vote count for the Hiram Daylight merger. There is much to be discussed, come have your voice heard!

In addition to our annual Officer elections, dues to legislation passed at the most recent Grand Communication, ALL lodges are required to elect five ( 5 ) Trial Commissioners. These Commissioners will stand ready just in case they are needed in the event of a Masonic trial.

If a trial is held at Wayfarers, three of these five commissioners will be named to be present and participate at a trial. If there is a trial and it’s in a Lodge other than Wayfarers, one of the five ( 5 ) commissioners will be picked from the four closest lodges, bringing the total to seven ( 7 ) commissioners serving at any trial. I’ve had two members of our Lodge volunteer to be nominated. It would be incredibly helpful if we have more volunteers, so that we can stay in compliance with Grand Lodge Constitution and Statutes.

The week of Tuesday, November 17 through 24, we will be dark. Enjoy the time with your families.

On Tuesday, November 26th 6:00 PM, we will be meeting at Job’s Daughters Bethel 22 in Sun City Lodge for Masonic Heritage/Family Night. This will count as our Youth official visit. All Master Masons (and their wives) are invited and encouraged to support the girls. There will be a complete Turkey Dinner, RSVP to bethel22azjdi@gmail.com

Friday, December 6th 2:30 PM: Phoenix Children’s Hospital Tree Decorating: It is time again for our annual Wayfarers Lodge No. 50 Tree Decorating at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Arrive early to view all the decorated Christmas Trees for the children of PCH! Then we will be decorating our tree in the traditional decorations of the season!

Contact the Lodge if you are requesting a dues card for the upcoming Masonic Year. Confirm you address, telephone number and e-mail. This will be passed onto the Secretary and the Treasurer so a timely disbursement of dues cards is available.

As always, thank you all for your support in making this a great Masonic year.

Fraternally,

Steve Liguori
